We promote joyful language learning
Our mission is to help you achieve the freedom and self-confidence you need to speak German with ease and feel excited about your new Swiss home.
Team of coaches who truly care
Imagine if there was another, more joyful way to learn a language than you have experienced at school. No strict, judgmental teachers or boring vocabulary lists.
We’ve been there too, and that is why we offer a different and more mindful way of learning which is interesting and relevant to your personal life. We know from our own experience how crucial it is to have a supportive and inspirational teacher who fully believes in you and empowers you to reach your full potential.
We are not just German teachers; we are German coaches with an international background - we know what it is like to be new to a foreign country. This is why we have the knowledge to help you not only with your language skills but also with cultural understanding, supporting you to navigate the Swiss system more easily.
Meet Teresa
Founder of Joylingua | Senior German Language & Integration Coach | Accredited Neurolanguage Coach® | CELTA-Qualified Teacher | Foreign Language Correspondent (French & Spanish)
I grew up in Southern Germany and experienced early on how powerful language can be — not only as a professional skill, but as a bridge to belonging.
Years ago, when I moved to France for an internship, I realised something that many of my clients recognise: despite years of traditional language education, I still did not feel confident speaking. It was only through regular one-to-one practice and true cultural immersion that I began to experience flow, clarity, and ease in communication.
That turning point shaped my professional path.
Today, through Joylingua, I support international professionals in Switzerland in developing German in a way that feels structured, brain-friendly, and empowering. As an Accredited Neurolanguage Coach®, I integrate neuroscience-informed coaching techniques that help learners build confidence, overcome mental blocks, and communicate effectively in real-life situations — both professionally and socially.
My approach combines strategic clarity with warmth. I believe language learning works best when the nervous system feels safe, goals are meaningful, and progress is visible.
Mindfulness and movement are part of my daily life and naturally influence my coaching philosophy.

Our values:
Excellence
Delivering excellence in our work is crucial to us. We combine our high-level teaching and multilingual skills with empathetic coaching, so you don’t just improve your language skills but also find a positive language learning mindset.
Empathy
We believe that empathic coaching plays a vital role in a successful learning process. Did you know that when we feel threatened and stressed, our brains actually shut down? We can only find our ideal learning state when we feel safe and supported.
Joy
At Joylingua, we promote language learning as more of an act of self-care that boosts your well-being than a chore. Learning automatically becomes fun and interesting if it’s relevant to and useful for your personal life.
If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes in his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes in this heart.
